Main content
Please note that to lay out an accessory, the accessory itself must have a layout defined.
Defining a layout for an accessory is done in the same way as for any other component.
In terms of laying out accessories in a panel layout, there are two different types of accessories:
- Accessories that are attached to the main component layout and (e.g. relay and base)
- Accessories that are detached from the main component (e.g. circuit breaker handle that is mounted on the panel door)
For accessories that are attached to the main component layout and (e.g. relay and base):
The best way to lay out these types of accessories is from the main component layout, i.e. open the main component's layout view, go to the Layout Tools tab and select Layout Element to lay out the accessory, provided the accessory has a layout view defined.
Once this is done, the main component layout view will include the accessory.
For accessories that are detached from the main component (e.g. circuit breaker handle that is mounted on the panel door):
If the accessory should be in a different location than the main component, use Assign to Location to assign the accessory to its proper location, then open that location layout and use Layout Element to lay out the accessory.
If the accessory should be in the same location as the main component, then no extra steps are required; simply opening the location layout and using Layout Element will be enough to lay out the accessory.
