By default, the numbering orientation is top-down, then left-right:

This can be changed to left-right, then top-down:

Here's how:

1. Select SkyCAD in the tree view
2. Go to the Show tab and select Environments
3. Expand the properties of Standard Environment
4. Change the Numbering orientation in sheets property. (Run renumbering in your project/system to see the difference.)
5. To see your projects/systems in the tree view again, select SkyCAD in the tree view
6. Go to the Show tab and select Work Objects
