Title: Important lag when inserting a drawing object in a layout with many rails containing many items snapped to them.
Description:

Testing:

- In a layout with lots of stuff inserted on rails, start iinserting a line segment (click only first point) and move the mouse around.  

- The elastic should follow the cursor around in a relatively smooth way.
