Preview of the symbol

Why is there no preview of the symbol in the parts catalogue? Or am I doing something wrong?

I dont think their are Symbols, only Catalog Component information and the Layout drawings

Exactly.

Ok thanks, is this not meant to be in the future online catalogue, or is it not implemented yet?

Catalogue parts can be used with many different types of symbols (IEEE or IEC for example), so we decided to start with simply sharing catalogue parts, and rely on the block generator to make it so users can generate the block from the downloaded part using whatever symbol standard they're using.

Of course, for simple parts that do not already have a symbol to represent them in the library, users have to draw it themselves.

But we are evaluating the possibility to have something similar as the online parts catalogue but solely to share symbols.  That said, and it is not very high on our priority list...

Has there been any talk of getting an expansion to the SYMBOL library?

I feel as though it would be nice to have a search bar for it as well... I dont like fumbling with the creator block for things that might be out there already due to the years of existence. A search bar for the whole software would be amazing actually.

Yes, this is planned for a future version update, though we don't have an ETD yet.

If you don't find the catalogue parts you're looking for, you can try find them on our online parts catalogue or add them to your catalogue yourself using the standard tools (for basic components) or the block generator (for more complex components; e.g. with I/O).

Please let us know if this helps.
